The Editor

Would you like a little more of the Cannes Film Festival ? You're in luck because the ACID Cannes Repeats 2025 are coming up very soon! What does this mean? It means you’ll get to enjoy unique screenings, premieres of feature films that were showcased at the festival last May. The events will take place in Paris, Marseille, Lyon, and Nantes. In Nantes, it's the beautiful Cinématographe that will welcome you from October 3rd to 5th, 2025, for nine unforgettable and exclusive screenings.

Over 30 years of existence

Every year since 1993, ACID - the Association of Independent Cinema for its Distribution - takes part in the International Film Festival of Cannes and showcases a carefully curated selection of feature films, both fiction and documentaries, from the four corners of the globe. The goal: to give these independent works of the 7th Art the visibility they deserve and to find distributors so that they can be screened in cinemas all over France.

A rich and eclectic lineup

Get ready, because the lineup is looking fabulously rich! The festivities will kick off on Friday, October 3, 2025, with the screening at 6 PM of The Life After Siham by Namir Abdel Messeeh, a poignant story of grief set between Egypt and France. At 8 PM, Entroncamento by Pedro Cabeleira will sweep us away into a thrilling gangster tale!

The next day, Saturday, October 4th, at 2 PM, The Light Never Dies by Lauri-Matti Parppei will create a beautiful connection between cinema and music. At 4:30 PM, get ready for a moving story of exile and return in the stunning Colombian desert with The Black Snake by Aurélien Vernhes-Lermusiaux, and at 6:30 PM, Drunken Noodles by Lucio Castro will explore themes of love, desire, the body, and the fleeting nature of things. Finally, at 8:30 PM, we’ll take a trip to Italy with L’Aventura by Sophie Letourneur.

A wonderfully diverse array of themes

Did you think it ended there? Think again! Starting at 2 PM on Sunday, October 5th, the film Dark Night - "Ain't I a Child?" by Sylvain George will be screened. It will showcase, in a black and white Paris, the journey of young exiles...just arrived in the capital. At 5:15 PM, Laurent dans le vent by Anton Balekdjian, Léo Couture, and Mattéo Eustachon will introduce us to a man on a quest for meaning. To wrap up beautifully, Put Your Soul on Your Hand and Walk by Sepideh Farsi will be screened at 8:15 PM. A moving documentary that sheds light on the war in Gaza through the eyes of a woman, Fatma Hassona. So, which screenings are you coming to?
