SumUp, the British payment services company, has taken an interest in the best cities in France for raising children. In this little game, Montpellier doesn't shine with a sad 14th place out of 25 cities. Paris, Lyon, and Bordeaux make up the podium.

In an exclusive study, the international fintech SumUp has created a ranking of the best cities in France for raising a family. The study takes into account various factors such as the number of schools and nurseries, sports centers, and playgrounds in the 25 largest cities in the country.

Paris is officially the best city in France for raising children, with a score of 5.689 points. Despite having the lowest percentage of green spaces (14%), the French capital makes up for it with its educational and entertainment facilities. Indeed, Paris has the highest number of nurseries, sports centers, and entertainment venues.

Montpellier Lags Behind

In second place, we find Lyon with a score of 4.126 points, managing to compete with the capital with the greatest number of schools (187) and playgrounds (70). Montpellier ranks only 14th with an overall score of...

with 2,610 points, mainly penalized by its low safety score, its lack of daycare centers, and activities suitable for children.
