With the arrival of a hot weekend, refreshing outing ideas are more welcome than ever! Good news for the people of Marseille: Wave Island, one of the largest water parks in southern France, has reopened its doors this Saturday, June 13, 2026 in Monteux, Vaucluse. Located just over an hour from Montpellier, the park is officially launching its summer season and promises to become one of the must-visit spots to escape the high temperatures expected in the region.

A XXL Playground to Cool Off

Adjacent to the famous Parc Spirou Provence, Wave Island offers a fantastic array that delights both thrill-seekers and families looking to relax. The park features around twenty water attractions, including impressive slides, swimming areas, immersive courses, and specially designed zones for kids. Surf enthusiasts can also take on the artificial waves dedicated to surfing, one of the park's main highlights. It's the perfect way to mix adrenaline with relaxation throughout the day.

An Opening Just in Time for the Heatwave

This reopening comes as weather forecasts predict a significant warm-up across the region, with temperatures reaching 28 to 32°C this weekend. Some meteorologists are even mentioning a risk of a heatwave by the end of June. So, it's safe to say that the pools and attractions at Wave Island will quickly draw in visitors looking for a cool escape. The park will be open to the public until September 6, with tickets priced between 23 and 33 euros. For those looking to compare options, Aqualand Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer will open its doors starting on June 20.
