But here we are, this project has had more twists and turns than a Netflix series: first slowed down by legal challenges, then put on pause due to the health crisis, it has since faced numerous delays. Today, a new date has emerged: September 2025. The reason? Delays in construction.
8,000 m² for a XXL shopping experience
Let’s be clear: the wait promises to be worth it. Primark never does things halfway, and its arrival in Montpellier proves just that. Located in 8,000 m² spread over two levels, the store will take the place of the former bowling alley and go-kart track at Odysseum. Clothing, accessories, shoes, home decor items… everything will be available at prices that (you can guess) will be quite reasonable!

More than 5 years of waiting
And it will be five years since Montpellier has been waiting for the store, originally planned for this summer, the opening was supposed to coincide with the arrival of about ten new shops at Odysseum. So it’s next school year, in 2025, that Primark is expected to reopen.
