For three days, Montpellier will turn into a true laboratory for responsible tourism. The Green Destinations congress, never before held in France, will take place at the Corum and several iconic spots in the city like the Agora or the Maison des relations internationales.
The event will bring together nearly 300 researchers, decision-makers, and professionals from around the world. Their mission: to reflect on the decarbonization of tourism activities, the preservation of resources, and adaptation to climate change—issues that have become essential for the future of the sector.
A collective momentum in Occitanie
Supported by Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole, the CRTL Occitanie, Ademe, and Open Tourisme Lab, the congress showcases the collective strength of a pioneering region in ecological transition. Emmanuel Bobin, dir.cteur of Open Tourisme Lab highlights this shared energy, which has the power to sustainably transform regions and their practices.
Beyond the conferences, six themed educational tours will invite participants to discover iconic local initiatives. From Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert to the Pont du Gard, via Grau-du-Roi and the Hérault valley, Occitanie will take advantage of the event to showcase its concrete commitments.
Occitanie at the forefront of responsible tourism
