It’s a project that’s sure to surprise: the famous Place de la Comédie could host an artificial beach right in the heart of the city as soon as the warm days arrive. Several tons of sand will be laid down to recreate a seaside vibe, complete with deck chairs, umbrellas, and shaded areas. The main goal is to provide the people of Montpellier with a relaxation space that’s accessible to everyone, without having to hop in the car and head towards Palavas or Carnon (and we know how quickly that can turn into quite the expedition).
Laid-back vibes, activities, and a summer atmosphere
But the beach won't just be a simple backdrop. Fun activities are planned throughout the summer: DJ sets in the evenings, morning workout sessions, kids’ workshops… plenty to keep the place lively from morning till sunset. Completely free and open to everyone, this temporary installation could become the must-visit spot!
