It was in the 1920s that a certain Auguste Bosc, a local composer, decided to thank his hometown in a rather original way: by financing the construction of a music kiosk! This kiosk, designed by the architect Elie-Marcel Bernard, was inaugurated with great pomp on May 2, 1927, with a concert conducted by Bosc himself.
A 100-year-old story
After nearly a century of existence, the Bosc kiosk was starting to seriously wear out. (A bit like us after a night of heavy drinking). Fortunately, the City has decided to give it a facelift! Since January, preparatory works have begun, including the renewal of underground networks.

A Year of Work
We're not going to ruin this architectural gem! The restoration will last a year and will scrupulously respect the original design. The program includes restoring the fountain, replanting the slopes with low vegetation to not obstruct the view, renovating the concrete, strengthening the structures, restoring the underground lodges, and reinstalling the period lighting! Once renovated, the Bosc kiosk will regain its role as an iconic stage for the Esplanade. You'll be able to have rap concerts without getting kicked out! With its new harmonized vegetation and meticulous lighting, it will become a true showcase for the arts and culture in Montpellier. See you in summer 2025 to (re)discover the Bosc kiosk!
