Nestled in the heart of Provence, Fontaine-de-Vaucluse (or the Source de Vaucluse for the insiders) is a destination that turns heads every year. It has everything to please: a breathtaking natural landscape, a mysterious river, and a turquoise blue flow that will never cease to amaze you (not something you see every day, huh?). And what about that majestic limestone cliff towering above the source, reaching 230 meters high and riddled with cracks.

A breathtaking turquoise water
Going to Fontaine-de-Vaucluse and not taking the walk to the Sorgue abyss is like going to Paris and not seeing the Eiffel Tower (a crime, right?). Access to the village can be a bit tricky in high season, but don't worry, there are plenty of parking lots. The trail is really nice, but leave your heels at home, it could get a bit tricky...

The stroll through this village is a pure delight, between the welcoming terraces by the water and the soothing murmur of the Sorgue. To your right, you'll find a series of restaurants with breathtaking views and to your left, a variety of ice cream shops and souvenir shops. Choose your timing wisely to avoid the crowds!

A perfect place for hikers
Well, if you're in the area, you might as well take advantage of it to go on one or two hikes, right? We recommend two: the first one "The Fontaine-de-Vaucluse abyss from above." It's probably one of the most beautiful hikes in the region! You'll have spectacular views and breathtaking landscapes, and the best part is, parking is free (yay!). Get ready for a 3-hour walk covering a distance of 6.22km with an elevation gain of 460 meters. Climbers are welcome, but leave the little ones at home. The second hike we recommend is the one that goes through the Oppidum de Bondelon and the Galas Aqueduct. This hike is a journey through time, with the remains of an ancient Gallic city and a Roman aqueduct, a true masterpiece...
