When history meets technology, it creates a breathtaking light show. This year, Montpellier is going all out to celebrate the national holiday, starting on July 13th with an incredible sound and light spectacle. At 10 PM, the water tower at Peyrou becomes the stage for a vibrant tribute to Olympe de Gouges, a major figure in feminism and the French Revolution. With artistic projections, immersive soundscapes, and visual poetry, this iconic monument will literally light up before the amazed eyes of the audience.
But before the dazzling display, the evening kicks off with a festive rhythm: lanterns handed out starting at 8:30 PM, followed by a torchlit procession through the charming streets of Écusson, heading towards Peyrou. It's a beloved tradition that brings back warm memories and a sense of community.
