The Editor

Since 2007, this event has invited the public to open the doors of opera houses, exploring backstage, workshops, and stages. This year, the theme "Melting Pot" sets the tone: opera reveals itself as a crossroads where arts, crafts, cultures, and generations intersect. To embody this vision, an unprecedented duo is sponsoring the event: singer Marina Viotti and choreographer-dancer François Chaignaud. Together, they proudly champion the values of inclusion, diversity, and dialogue between disciplines.

The weekend promises to be rich, blending discoveries and emotions. On Saturday at 2:30 PM and 4 PM, the Salle Molière will host a participatory rehearsal with Opéra Junior, led by choir conductor Albert Alcaraz. On the menu is a journey through the repertoire of French songs, from Édith Piaf to Charles Trenet, where poetry and nostalgia meet. The cherry on top...the cake: a singing workshop is available (by reservation).

A jam-packed program for the occasion

At 5 PM, head to Le Corum for an open rehearsal of the cello workshop À Vos pupitres, led by Cyrille Tricoire De Haro, principal soloist cellist. This moment unveils the work of 70 musicians.amateurs, of all ages, united by their love of the cello. An immersion in the raw passion of music. Curious visitors can also wander through the foyers of the Opéra Comédie to discover Views on Opera, an exhibition of drawings by the students of LISAA Architecture Montpellier, under the guidance of illustrator Fiona Meynier. Around fifty works, captured in late 2024, reveal the Opéra Comédie in a new light. Join us on Saturday from 9:30 AM to 6 PM and Sunday from 9:30 AM to 5 PM to discover it all!

Guided tours of the backstage at Opéra Comédie are also organized and will allow you to explore the main hall, the dressing rooms, the makeup and costume workshops, and even step onto the stage. A dive into the behind-the-scenes, where opera comes to life. And for the more independent visitors, there are self-guided tours! will be offered to explore the venue at your own pace, on Saturday from 9:30 AM to 6 PM, and on Sunday from 9:30 AM to 5 PM. So if you've always been curious about what goes on behind the big red curtain: now's your chance to find out!
