It was on Tuesday, December 3rd, that the Barcarès Christmas market opened its doors in a festive atmosphere and under particularly nice weather for the season. This market has made a name for itself alongside the most renowned ones, like those in Strasbourg or Île-de-France. And for good reason: with its 150 chalets spread over a vast area of 7 hectares, it has nothing to envy from its illustrious counterparts.

1.6 million visitors every year
Every year, this charming little town of 6,000 residents welcomes up to 1.6 million visitors. But what draws in so many people? Perhaps it's the spectacular 1,500 m² ice rink, the 55-meter high Ferris wheel offering breathtaking views, the charming vintage rides, or the amazing ice museum, perfect for reliving the magical world of Frozen (don’t deny it, you’ve thought about it already).

An Unforgettable Encounter with Santa Claus
Besides being gigantic, the Christmas market in Barcarès offers a multitude of activities: puppet shows, parades and brass bands, ice shows, and of course, a magical meeting with Santa Claus himself (yes, yes, we promise!). And because Barcarès always thinks big, a fireworks display lights up the sky every Friday night until January 3, 2025, at 10:30 PM, with a special edition at midnight to celebrate the New Year.
