The Rue de la Loge has never lived up to its name better: for a little over a month, it will turn into a true open-air theater set. From July 19 to August 26, 2025, passersby will enjoy a parade of 500 yellow umbrellas floating above their heads, like a cheerful wink at the Montpellier sun… without the heatwaves. Cinema, photography, a stroll, or shopping? Whatever your reason for passing by, you're going to look up.
This installation, as aesthetic as it is functional, is part of the plan to re-enchant the city center led by the City of Montpellier and its partners. The goal: to make Rue de la Loge a more pleasant place to be during the scorching months while boosting its commercial appeal. The result? An Instagram-worthy spot that brings together poetry, utility, and a nod to the current sports events.

The yellow, a wink to the sun and the Tour de France
Because yes, this yellow is not here by chance. It evokes the sun, of course – ever-present in the region with over 300 days of beautiful weather a year – but also the legendary yellow jersey of the Tour de France, which will stop in Montpellier on July 21 and 22. A double treat that pays homage to cycling while celebrating the city in the heart of summer.
Rue de la Loge thus transforms into a sensory journey, with soft light, shaded areas, and a summer vibe that delights. A bubble of visual freshness that invites you to wander, breathe, and slow down. And perhaps even rediscover a street you thought you already knew by heart.
