Montpellier is getting ready to dive into the excitement of the French Elite Swimming Championships! From October 31 to November 3, 2024, the city will buzz with the thrill of competitions in the small pool, but it's especially from June 14 to June 19, 2025, that the event will reach its peak with the French Elite Championships in the big pool.

Four-time Olympic champion Léon Marchand in Montpellier

A double dose of sports that delights Michaël Delafosse, the mayor of Montpellier, who announced the news with enthusiasm in comments shared by Midi Libre. "After the Olympic effect, we are happy and extremely proud to host these championships," he declared. And there's plenty to be proud of, as Montpellier will showcase the biggest names in French swimming, starting with the phenom Léon Marchand, just back from his Olympic medal glory.

Fans will be able to admire the feats of Marchand, who will be aiming to hit his qualifying times for the 2025 World Championships in Singapore, as well as those of other swimming stars, including the medalists from the relay events. Montpellier, already known for its sporting dynamism, continues to establish itself as a must-visit city for sports in France.
