Imagined by the Montpellier artist Léo Cilas, the Galerie Cilas aims to break the mold. A gallery where there are no boundaries between styles, showcasing both urban art and contemporary art, featuring figurative as well as abstract works, and especially a desire to present committed plastic works that are accessible and striking. A lively place, just like its founder.
13 artists for a glamorous kickoff
To make a splash right at the opening, the gallery will host a collective exhibition called “First Rays”. A true visual manifesto, highlighting 13 artists, all permanent residents of RESTANQUE.

Among the talented artists showcased in this first exhibition, you'll find : Granck Noto, Mathieu Lucas, Mara, Julien Barriol, Adrien Da Silva, Léo Cilas of course, but also Lucky Lucine, Pamela Araujo, Ti’Lab, Maderno, Rim, Synanta and Bella Bah, a lovely variety of styles and worlds.
RESTANQUE, the artistic third place
If the opening of the Galerie Cilas is already stirring up some buzz, it's also because it is located in the heart of RESTANQUE.a new artistic and cultural third place that is set to become one of the most exciting spots in Montpellier. You'll find : artist workshops, exhibition spaces, residencies, a bistro, and a lineup of upcoming public events. It’s a true vibrant artistic space, designed to mix disciplines, people, and ideas.

The inauguration of RESTANQUE and the Galerie Cilas will take place on Saturday, June 14th starting at 4 PM. It’s going to be a festive moment open to everyone to discover the space, the artists, and the initial exhibitions. The official opening of the exhibition “First Rays” will be held on Thursday, June 19th at 6 PM and the exhibition will be on display until July 25th, so save the date!
