At the canteen!
To the delight of the locals and passing tourists, Davaï canteen has set up shop on Rue Saint Michel, just a stone's throw from Cours Julien. Here, you can enjoy homemade dishes to eat in or take away. In this unique restaurant, the term "canteen" really comes to life, you may not hear "In line two by two" but almost! At Davaï, you serve yourself at the counter, and clear your plate with lots of love and kindness. You will feel a bit like home in a simple, inclusive, and friendly atmosphere.
"Davaï" means "Let's go" in Russian, but it's not just that... While the name of the canteen has Russian echoes, the culinary inspiration is far from it. At Davaï, Alexia and Quentin bring their own culinary influences from all corners of the globe. For Alexia, it's a cuisine rather reflective of her travels in Asia and South America, while Quentin's touch adds a Mediterranean flair. So come on, let's go to Davaï!
Vegan and Vegetal Influences and for Quentin, it's Asian cuisine that inspires his dishes. A surprising fusion that gives you the chance to savor delicious dishes! !A local cuisine
At Davaï, the kitchen duo uses fresh, seasonal products to inspire their small dishes cooked on site every morning. Every day, a new quality and very affordable vegetarian dish (10 €) is offered as well as a meat option once a week (12-13 €), accompanied by a delicious dessert.Dessert. Here we enjoy simple and tasty dishes (soft-boiled egg, fresh cheese, fresh herbs...) and all without breaking the bank, a true delight! And because cooking locally is close to their hearts, the canteen is in partnership with the educational farm Graines de Soleil located in Châteauneuf Les Martigues, which provides them with fruits and vegetables. They are also partners with Scop Epices where they source organic grocery products, as well as with La Drogueria (dairy products, eggs...). From time to time, the duo also sources from just steps away from their canteen, at the Market of the Producers in Cours Julien.
