Theatre du Gymnase
Located on the Canebière, in the Thiers district, the Theatre du Gymnase is an Italian-style theater with 695 seats. Celebrating its bicentennial since 2004 (we're giving you a bit of a history lesson here), this former chapel of the Convent des Lyonnaises hosts theater plays, comedy shows, and jazz concerts all year round. For example, Blanche Gardin is one of the latest personalities to have graced its stage.

Théâtre des Bernardines
On the program of the stage, dance and contemporary writings in Marseille. And how many lives has this theater lived before its...becoming one! A place that has been a fire station, a dance venue, a convent, a warehouse, and finally, in 1987, a testing ground, the Bernardines now house a project centered around supporting artists in a comprehensive way today.

La Criée
This national theater is a must-visit, both for its geographical location (on the Old Port, difficult to miss) and for the shows on the billboard. Originally, the Li.I was a place where freshly caught fish was sold in bulk. In 1971, the Criée was founded there, and its facade was raised in the 20th century to the rank of a historical monument. The public goes there to see both classics (adaptation of Dumas' Lady of the Camellias, performance of Molière's Learned Ladies) as well as more contemporary and niche plays that you or your friends, if you are a bit artsy, will enjoy.

Théâtre Toursky
Le théâtre Toursky est, lui aussi, très riche niveau programmation : lectures, pièces, spectacles de danse, expositions, conférences...Ce qui a commencé dans.A hangar created in 1971 is now a place filled with humanism and kindness. And Toursky is also a key place for contemporary Russian creation, especially with the Russian Festival, a unique event in France that has been offering an original program since 1995: performances of classic and modern authors, films and debates with renowned contemporary directors, exhibitions, popular universities, participative workshops...
We're telling you, it's packed. When inspiration is high, we delight in Russian cabarets, extending the festivities with songs, dances, local specialties... and vodka. Typical, we tell you! Otherwise, the rest of the year, it's the cream of contemporary French creation that gathers there. Need some enticing? Intra-Muros by Alexis Michalik, Anquetil tout seul or Alex Vizorek.
