Riding between the Gard and Hérault, just a few hours from Marseille, the Cirque de Navacelles is classified as a "Great Site of France" for the exceptional quality of its landscapes. Classified for the first time in 1941, the Cirque de Navacelles is now a true French treasure preserved. Then the 1274 hectares including the Cirque de Navacelles and the gorges of the Vis were classified in 1983.

Hiking and Refreshing Swim

If you love enchanting landscapes and are looking for some cool freshness, but you're not necessarily a big hiker, then the Cirque de Navacelles is perfect for you! Starting from the village of Saint-Maurice-Navacelles, where you have kindly parked your car, all you have to do is lace up your sneakers and embark on this hiking stroll.

Embark on a 10-kilometer journey along the Vis river, which is not as winding as you might think. You will walk with your feet in the water at times, and on dry land at others, all while simply enjoying your surroundings. In this atmosphere where time seems to stand still, the 3-hour hike will fly by in the blink of an eye.

La Maison Odette: a stop after a dip

"To then enjoy the magnificent starry nights offered by the Cévennes National Park and a remarkable guest table, we recommend stopping at Maison Odette. This incredible building is both a culinary and artistic residence, located less than half an hour from the exceptional Cirque spot.

Chefs take turns at Maison Odette to delight food lovers and fans of creative cuisine. They adapt their cooking to the local region, sometimes drawing directly from the guest house's aromatic garden. It's a great way to rediscover talents you may already know, like Marseille chef Eric Maillet from the restaurant Le Cédrat, who is taking part in this summer adventure. During our visit, chef Clémence Gommy was in charge of the kitchen.
