One of the most beautiful villages in France
Another beautiful village nestled in the midst of the fields of Provence! Lourmarin is officially labeled "one of the most beautiful villages in France!" Here, there is a lot to visit: The Belfry, the Romanesque church of St. Andrew, the Villa Medici de Provence Castle and beautiful bastides from the 16th and 18th centuries on the outskirts of the village.
.
But Lourmarin is not just about old stones, the village is truly alive, with very pleasant café terraces in the summer, good restaurants, galleries, and numerous events. We also note that Albert Camus lived and wrote in Lourmarin... How cool!
And for gastronomy lovers, every Tuesday, from early May to late October, the Lourmarin producer's market takes on a special twist. On the esplanade of the former fruit and vegetable cooperative of the village, now transformed into a "digital dairy", a restaurant Chef arrives with his equipment. Thanks to the summer kitchen loaned by the municipality and using products directly sourced from the stalls, the Chef then gets cooking to create a recipe. A culinary event that delights the palate...Wow, attracting customers and other foodies!
