Natural or artificial, from Bain des Dames to Plage du Prophète passing by Vieille Chapelle, Marseille has a total of 21 official beaches spread along its 57 km coastline. Some are supervised and offer various practical and fun amenities for people with reduced mobility, while others are much more difficult to access because they are not really beaches. Just as a reminder, by definition, a beach is a "flat and low place on a shore where waves break." The coves and Calanques of the National Park are therefore neither beaches for lounging, nor supervised swimming areas. That being said, here is the complete list of: ## Surveilled beaches in Marseille (from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. unless otherwise stated) - **Corbière Fortin** - **Corbière Batterie** - **Corbière La Lave** - **Frioul St Estève** monitored from 10am to 6pm) - shuttle to the island of Frioul HERE
