Bubble Tea: What is it?

We know you, as a good Marseillais you are wondering. What is the average price of a bubble tea? What are the balls in bubble tea? Where can we find them or what is the best bubble tea flavor? In this article, we answer all these questions and more!
Let's start with the definition of a bubble tea (= bubble tea). Bubble tea is a sweet drink absolutely not sparkling but rather filled with small tapioca bubbles or now with syrup. Originally from Taiwan, it was brought to the USA in the 90s by Taiwanese immigrants. Today, this drink can be found all over the world and is very popular among young people.
In Marseille, several shops have embraced the concept and here is our selection.

In Marseille, Bloom boasts of being the most meticulous address. Cold, Hot or even Iced, each drink at this specialized establishment in Bubble Tea is finely balanced. Thanks to the puddings, jellies and various additional syrup pearls, you can create hundreds of delicious combinations. Among the house specialties are the rose tea and the Oreo Milk Tea. Since 2015, Sweet Bubble Tea has been quenching the thirst of high school and college students in the Castellane neighborhood and beyond. This colorful little shop promises fans of Taiwanese bubble tea some unique delights. While they specialize in the traditional recipe with brown sugar tapioca pearls, they also offer syrup pearls that Westerners love, as well as very French-inspired flavors like crème brûlée. We challenge you not to fall in love with them.

Mat'Chà

On the menu at Mat'chà, without much surprise, delightful matcha treats but also many options including irresistible bubble teas. The different teas at this new spot in the Notre-Dame du Mont neighborhood bring a touch of green to the very urban decor. The matchas (Japanese green tea in powder form) accompanied by all sorts of milks and plant-based juices are the stars of the menu, but they also offer delicious Bubble tea recipes with natural Boba (=tapioca pearls), selected fruits, and jellies.
