For over 90 years, Ricard has been a part of the French landscape. Created by Paul Ricard in 1932, the brand continues to develop today with the national launch of Ricard Bouteille 4.5%, an anise-flavored alcoholic beverage inspired by the recipe of pastis Ricard. On this occasion, the brand offers a culinary pairing with an emblematic specialty from Marseille: the moit-moit pizza.
From Naples to Marseille, the story of a local institution
While pizza has its origins in Italy, it has long held a special place in Marseille's culture. The Phocaean city is indeed one of the first French cities where pizza became firmly established. Very early on, Italian pizzas were reinterpreted in the Marseille style, featuring a generous tomato base, cheese (often a mix of Gruyère or Emmental and mozzarella), and edges that are purposely more pronounced during cooking. Among the iconic recipes is the famous “moit-moit,” a true local classic. Its principle is simple: one m
Oity filled with Emmental, the other with anchovies, all on a tomato base. An essential recipe that brings salty and briny flavors to the palate, complemented by the aniseed, licorice, and herbal notes of Ricard at 4.5%.
A collaboration between local expertise and design
To celebrate the launch of Ricard Bouteille 4.5%, the brand has chosen to highlight this Marseille specialty through a collaboration with the pizzeria L’Eau à la Bouche and designer Mickaël Koska. For this occasion, Mickaël Koska has crafted a special bottle opener designed just for Ricard Bouteille 4.5%, along with the design of a pack of four bottles.
This collaboration will also be showcased in a preview at the pizzeria L’Eau à la Bouche, located in the beautiful Malmousque cove. There, you can discover a delightful pairing of half-and-half pizza, Ricard Bouteille 4.5%, and a limited edition bottle opener. The event will take place on Sunday, June 21, from 5 PM to 10 PM.
