A new giant bench named "La Paupière"
In order to make this roundabout entirely pedestrian-friendly and transform it into a new living space, the city has decided to install a new bench around the fountain. This creation by Ora-ïto in collaboration with the Nostram group (Égis Rail, Stoa and Carta Associés) is inspired by the bench that winds along the Kennedy corniche for 3 kilometers. But this time, with the fountain in the center, you could see from above a giant eyelidcompleted by this summer.
The palm trees in Place Castellane cut down in the middle of the night
It seems like the residents of the neighborhood are seeing Place Castellane transform rapidly, but sometimes with a bit of bitterness! A few weeks ago, the locals woke up to discover with astonishment that the famous palm trees surrounding the square for decades had been cut down! Once the construction of the bench is completed, the city plans to plant 2 rows of hackberry trees to provide some shade and coolness now that the palm trees have disappeared!
