Environmental challenges, technical and technological developments, speed and performance… For sailing professionals and sailors around the world, what will the offshore racing of tomorrow look like? On November 28th, the National Marine Museum in Paris is hosting a special evening with debates, artistic performances, workshops, a pop-up bar and exclusive access to the temporary exhibition Solo Around the World, which will end on January 26th.

An evening to envision the race of tomorrow

Whatever the medium, the offshore racing of tomorrow will be at the heart of attention for this exceptional evening at the National Marine Museum. In the auditorium, from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM, we will witness a meeting between Roland Jourdain, skipper and co-manager of Kaïros, and Etienne Le Pen, lifecycle analysis engineer at Kaïros.and finally Antoine Mermod, president of the IMOCA class. It will be hosted by the exhibition curators Solo Around the World, Lénaïg L’Aot-Lombard and Didier Ravon. Together, the speakers will try to envision how to give a new direction to offshore racing in the face of environmental challenges.

In the museum hall, an artistic performance will also take place from 7 PM to 9:30 PM by the French street art duo Titomulk, who will offer us their vision of the future of ocean racing live.

But that's not all! Throughout the evening, from 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM, a multitude of activities will be available in all areas of the museum to immerse visitors in the world of ocean racing: slogan writing workshop on posters, testing the video game Virtual Regatta Inshore to assess your skipper skills, guided tour of the exhibition… Not to mention the pop-up bar with Monument Café and the photo booth to keep a memory of your visit. In short, an immersive evening accessible to everyone!

Let's celebrate nautical adventures together!

An exhibition at the heart of solo sailing

This exceptional evening resonates with the exhibition Solo Around the World, which immerses visitors in the fascinating world of solo round-the-world racing, connected to the tenth edition of the Vendée Globe that set sail this Sunday, November 10.

Through a series of maritime objects, immersive stories, and video testimonies, the exhibition retraces the exploits and challenges faced by skippers as they navigate the world's oceans. Visitors will discover the essential stages of a solo, non-stop, and unassisted round-the-world sailing trip, reliving all the exciting emotions along the way.
