The Torch
Its creator Mathieu Lehanneur has been chosen by Paris 2024 to design the torch and cauldron for the Olympic and Paralympic Games, making it a unique exhibition in France. The French designer, who won the Grand Prix Design Parade 2016, has conceived this torch based on 3 inspirations: equality (through the perfect symmetry of the torch) , water (by playing with the ripples and reflections of polished metal that looks like liquid), and tranquility (emerging from a design full of curves and continuous lines).

« Designing the Torch of the Games is a creator's dream. A dream that happens only once in a lifetime, much like a miraculous encounter with great history. As ritual as it is magical, the Torch is a mythical object. A symbol of cohesion and sharing, it is the true key to the Games. It will travel thousands of kilometers, passed from hand to hand, on land and at sea.
