What's the idea?
The city of Marseille has innovated this year! To support the heat inside the tramway, an experience of "closed blinds" has been implemented. The T2 and T3 trams have undergone many visual changes. The tramway windows have been dressed in perforated vinyls to reduce exposure to the sun. They have changed their look and now sport patterns inspired by shutters or sailors.
Is it really cooler now?
This new feature is still in testing phase and data is being collected to evaluate its effectiveness. If the results prove to be conclusive and satisfactory, then the operation can be repeated. A good news for you if you often take the tramway in Marseille during summer! No need to bring out your fan to cool off anymore!
