Planned in 2 phases, the construction of the Green Path will be divided into two segments. The first one, stretching 1.2 kilometers from the chemin du Roy d'Espagne to the traverse Pourrière, will include a pedestrian path and a two-way bike lane. The second segment will connect the traverse Pourrière to the one at Paragon, leading to Pointe-Rouge

A bright trail and so much more!

In an effort to revitalize this area known as the "green lung" of Marseille between Pourrière and rue Rimet, which currently lacks trees, the Intercommunity is set to plant 70 pines, sophoras, and mulberry trees ! The surfaces of the Green Path will be designed to ensure visibility at night. They will be mixed with concrete, making them  permeable and compatible with photoluminescent paint. The aim is to limit light pollution and establish an energy-autonomous system, especially to protect the surrounding biodiversity. The City of Marseille is also dedicated to making this Greenway a place for gatherings! In addition to the bike path, there will be facilities for athletes, relaxation areas, and educational panels to raise awareness about nature for children.

dren, and why not some artistic installations...

See you in 2026...

The estimated budget for the work amounts to four million euros, which is a bit less than the amount announced last year by Martine Vassal (4.8 million). Considering the age of the project, a new investigation of the parcels must be launched by the end of 2024, according to the tender document. The acquisition of the land should take place between 2024 and 2025, alongside studies, so that the project can roll out as planned in 2026.
