Innate Immunity at the Heart of New Cancer Therapies

Éric Vivier focuses on “natural killer” immune cells (or NK cells), known for their ability to naturally eliminate tumor cells. Through advanced molecular analyses, the researcher has shed light on their role in the immune system. His work contributes to the development of next-generation immunotherapies, which precisely target cancer cells while minimizing side effects for patients.

Innovative Therapeutic Antibodies Tested in Clinics

Today, Professor Vivier’s research is moving into the clinical phase. The goal is to develop innovative therapeutic antibodies against cancer, some of which are already in the testing phase.

ssai. These major advancements promise to enhance patient care and offer more effective treatments in the future. It's a source of pride for Marseille, which is establishing itself as a hub for biomedical research on a European scale.
