Marseille: The Least Walkable City in France!

A new study, conducted by the language learning platform, Preply, analyzed the walking distance between the five most popular tourist attractions in each French city, using data from Tripadvisor and Google Maps, to identify the cities with the least pedestrian-friendly vibe. The study reveals that Marseille is the least walkable city in France, requiring at least 4 hours of walking to visit the key tourist sites in one day (quite a workout).

Why?

Marseille is at the top of the list of French cities least suitable for tourists on foot, with a total distance of nearly 20 km between its five most popular attractions, which is more than 25,000 steps on average. This means that both tourists and locals in Marseille must plan 4 hours of walking to visit key tourist sites in one day. This result is not surprising, considering that the Phocaean city is one of the largest cities in France.
