Even though the Jules Cantini tram station hasn’t started operating yet, it’s already attracting exciting new shops nearby. Beginning in early 2025, a brand-new food hall will open its doors at 25 Avenue Jules Cantini. What’s on the menu? Fresh products to enjoy on-site, whether indoors or on the terrace when the sun comes out, or to take away to your cozy nest. At the heart of Les Halles Gourmets, customers will discover fruits and vegetables, cheese, deli meats, seafood, pastries for sweet tooths, and even a snacking area with no less than 45 seats.

Les Halles Gourmets is all about excellence.and a Marseille entrepreneur, Sandrine Azoulay. In her quest for fresh, high-quality products, she doesn’t plan to set overly high prices either: “We will source directly from cooperatives to bring costs down,” says Sandrine Azoulay. “We will prioritize French products and work with Meilleurs Ouvriers de France,” she assures. The boss of this future food hall is also committed to anti-waste initiatives with software that will alert her three days in advance to detect products that are about to expire and transform them into soup, juice, or even compotes! For her, “There’s no way we’re throwing food away while people are starving.” The grand hall is also considering collaborating with the mobile app Too Good To Go, which connects users with businesses or restaurants to offer unsold items at reduced prices in the form of "rescue" baskets.
