Attention highly sensitive subject! In Marseille, pizza is like soccer or Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde, an institution that is taken very seriously. Rumor has it in the city that the pizza truck was born here, just like the anchovy pizza. While pizzerias are popping up like Parisian mushrooms on a regal, not all of them are necessarily up to par. Whether you're a vegetarian, vegan, carnivore, prefer white or tomato base, like pineapple on your pizza or not, everyone can find something they like. Here are some of our good recommendations (which are definitely not exhaustive). You're welcome.
La pizzeria la Bonne Mère
Let's start this list with a must-visit address that every person from Marseille must have tried at least once in their life! The most famous wood-fired pizzas in Marseille, which were voted as the "Best pizza in France" by the 2016 Fooding guide!

Club Pizza
The newest pizzeria & bar hidden from sight, opened by the Cabane des Amis team that truly deserves our attention. 15 pizzas on the menu, a weekly changing pizza, homemade sourdough made on-site, 4 appetizers to share, 3 desserts, quality Italian products, no fuss, served in old-fashioned stainless steel dishes. The highlight of the show is definitely the Sunday machine to finish off this meal beautifully!

Angry Pizza
What would this neighborhood be without "Angry Pizza," that famous establishment that has saved us all at some point during a night out on the Cours Ju? No more old kebab from the corner that leaves much to be desired! Head to Angry Pizza for slices to go and fill your stomach in a hurry, but always with indulgence!
Tripletta
The shining star of the Notre Dame du Mont neighborhood where pizza reigns supreme. AOP tomato base or white base, vegetarian or carnivorous... you choose. Margherita, calzone, truffle... or unique recipes: there's something for everyone and we are never disappointed.

The Bambino is our little Italian gem from the Camas neighborhood, with thin and crispy pizzas. We recommend trying the "Bambino", a house specialty with mushrooms and truffle oil.

Nowhere else
With its ideal location on the Vieux-Port of Marseille and its late opening hours, Nowhere Else is one of the few restaurants on the Vieux-Port that is not a tourist trap. Its Corsican influences even bring some lovely varieties to pizzas like the Figatelli pizza, to die for!
Splendido
The famous trattoria of the Big Mamma group transports us into the whimsical universe of an Italian circus through incredible decor and quality products. Slightly more expensive than other restaurants, the pizzas are still excellent, we must admit.
