Discover the "On Stage" exhibition at Mucem!
The Mucem in Marseille presents the exhibition “On Stage! Clowns, Jesters, and Acrobats” from December 4, 2024, to May 12, 2025. Designed by Macha Makeïeff, this immersive exhibition plunges visitors into the fascinating world of circus artists and carnival shows. From the moment you enter, guests are invited to stroll through decor that evokes circus tents and performance stages, where artworks, sparkling costumes, and unusual objects come together. Visitors will discover pieces from the Mucem collections, as well as exceptional loans from prestigious museums such as the Musée d’Orsay, the Centre Pompidou, and the Picasso Museum. Renowned artists like Picasso, Niki de Saint Phalle, and Charlie Chaplin are also celebrated alongside iconic circus figures. The exhibition explores the duality of the lives of s.altimbanques, between the brilliance of performances and daily reality, offering a reflection on the human condition and the quest for freedom. Visitors are invited to immerse themselves in this poetic universe and feel the emotion of shows from the past.

Celebrating New Year’s Wishes with Marseille Residents
The mayor of Marseille, Benoît Payan, extends his wishes to the residents of Marseille. To celebrate the new year, he invites all the locals to the City Hall for a festive, family-friendly, and completely free event ! On Saturday, January 11, 2025, starting at 10 AM and throughout the morning, there will be numerous free activities on the forecourt and inside the City Hall to welcome the new year: marching band, DJ set, face painting workshops, creative and plant workshops, sports activities (climbing wall and double dutch), and a break...gourmet treats (hot chocolates, coffees, king cakes, cotton candy, churros, and panisse), photobooths, exhibitions and tours of the Town Hall, virtual reality headsets, polygraphs.
