A completely unusual visit through the ages
Embark on a journey to discover this famous ship and travel through time! Step into the Captain's cabin with its Cuban mahogany furniture and large central desk, feeling like a modern-day navigator! Enter the library and bar furniture, it's like stepping back in time. Take a tour down to the engine room that houses the engines and 4-bladed propellers that are supposed to propel the beast! And for navigation enthusiasts, the highlight is the bridge where you'll find all the navigation instruments: nautical charts, historical navigation documents, and a backup helm.
A historical monument

The Belem is one of the oldest large sailing ships still sailing in the world! Classified as a historic monument today, its history has spanned centuries. It was first a merchant ship, then a British pleasure yacht before becoming an Italian and then French training ship for almost 30 years. It is one of the oldest three-masted ships in Europe still in sailing condition and the second largest sailboat in France, measuring 51 meters long, with 1,200 m² of sail area (22 sails and 250 pulleys). It is a ship that often represents France and its maritime traditions at gatherings of large sailing ships and international events (Odyssey 2002 - Brazil and Caribbean, Quebec 2008, Queen's Jubilee, and the London Olympics in 2012).
