A Marseille Story

Since 1899, the Marseille institution shines in the small village of Les Goudes, known for its delicious fish and unique setting, the place is being modernized from floor to ceiling, including the menu. At the helm, the fantastic duo Paul Langlère and Thibault Hillmeyer leading the rising Marseille hospitality group Ninette. Among their accomplishments, the duo already have Sépia perched on the Puget hill, the bar Julis, but also Cécile Food Club, the beloved deli in Malmousque. To give a fresh look to the legendary restaurant that has been kept in its original state for a long time, the duo trusted Marion Mailaender a designer and interior architect, famous for her stunning projects like Tuba Club, Citron & Huitres and Hôtel Rosalie in Paris.

Between Authenticity and Refinement

Keeping the authenticity of the restaurant was obviously the number one challenge for the famous duo. Thankfully, they managed to preserve the heritage of the place with a "non-show-off" decor, designed for the glory of simplicity. You'll find a mix of classic, chic, freshness, and an atmosphere that respects the history of the place. In this "real" life of the fishing village, the terrace overlooking the harbor offers a lunch or dinner with colorful fishing boats, or close to it. The line between land and sea is very thin, and the show is exceptional. On the doorstep, the counter from the 1950s stands as the faithful haunt of generations. Today, it wears its new bathing suit, a turquoise blue mural, which gives. Don't be blue.

The cuisine

When it comes to cuisine, La Marine has found its gem - former Chef of the hotel-restaurant Les Bords de mer, Marseille native Camille Gandolfo has arrived in Les Goudes to showcase her local and Mediterranean cuisine and flavors. The taste of the sea, with feet almost in the water, that's the spirit of the new Marine des Goudes. The menu highlights the finest products within reach, sourced right outside the restaurant under the watchful eye of the Chef duo Camille Gandolfo and Paul Langlère.

Here are some highlights from the menu: ceviche with tomato chimichurri water, Camargue oysters with horseradish and wasabi, fried fish according to Laurent and Alain's catch of the day, the traditional rock fish soup with rouille and croutons, or the marrow bone with Martigues bottarga. As for feasts: the fish reign supreme, sea bass, red mullet, saurel, octopus...... brought in fresh every morning from the fishermen of the Goudes, alongside toppings that almost steal the show...
