Major bay : the new pop festival
June 2024

See you on the other side of the Old Port this time, on the Esplanade du J4, between Fort Saint-Jean and the Major Cathedral. For the new pop festival in Marseille! It's all about pop music! Unlike urban music and rap, pop is not often celebrated in France. This baby festival, born last year, made some noise by inviting artists such as Lomepal, Pomme, Polo & Pan, and Juliette Armanet to rock the J4. While this year's lineup is still a secret, Major Bay is a human-sized festival that promises another great edition! 15,000 spectators and about ten artists are expected in one of the most beautiful settings in Marseille. There is always a good reason to party in Marseille, whether it's spring, the beginning of summer, or this time: Indian summer. Everyone knows that September and October are the best months to truly enjoy Marseille (without the tourists). So mark your calendars for October 10-13 for a new edition of the Fiesta des Suds in a unique and popular atmosphere on the Esplanade du J4. Last year in a few numbers: 300 artists from 20 different countries, 35 concerts, 45 hours of music, 3 electrifying nights, an after-party at the Dock des Suds until the early hours, a Sunday with free access for families under the sun of J4, a parade of 100 Camargue horses on the Old Port, and 25,000 spectators coming together to experience a 32nd sunny and spectacular edition. In short, it's been a must-attend event in the fall for years and years.
