Who said the Cannes Festival was over? From October 2 to 4, 2026, ACID Revivals are coming to theaters. The concept is straightforward: several feature films presented by this parallel section of the famous festival last May are screened in preview for a week in Paris, Marseille, and Lyon. In Marseille, the event takes place in three cinemas, at La Baleine, Gyptis, and Variétés, to watch nine feature films — fiction and documentaries — French and international.
A particularly diverse program
The countdown begins Friday, October 2, at 8 p.m., at Variétés, with Barça Zou by Paul Nouhet, which takes us on a journey through skateboarding, youth, and friendship. The festivities continue Saturday, October 3, at 4 p.m., still at Variétés
You're looking at a screening of Blaise by Dimitri Planchon and Jean-Paul Guigue, which introduces us to the Sauvage family, ready to do anything to be loved. At 6 PM, head over to La Baleine to discover Secret Heart by Tom Fontenille, which explores grief and gender identity within a family itself. At 8:30 PM, Detention by Guillaume Massart will be screened. The latter opens the doors to the prison system and focuses on the officers who work there.

Two feature films to wrap up ACID Reprises
And when you think there's no more, there's always more! On Sunday, October 4th, ACID Reprises will take place at the Gyptis. At 4pm, Turns, by Céline Carridroit and Aline Suter, will introduce us to Johanna, a mechanics enthusiast who decides to breathe new life into her Beetle to make peace with this field she loves so much. Finally, at 6pm, Bad Star, by Lola Cambourieu and Yann Berlier, will close out the weekend by confronting us with the mechanisms of control within a couple.

Shining a spotlight on independent cinema
Since 1993, the ACID (Association of Independent Cinema for its Distribution) has been dedicated to presenting feature films, fiction and documentaries, carefully selected from all four corners of the globe, at the Cannes Film Festival. The mission remains the same every year: to highlight independent filmmaking and help these works find distributors so they can be released in cinemas.
