Marseille, the capital of cinema
Did you know that the first film was shot in La Ciotat by the Lumière brothers? Recently, Marseille has been the setting for filming of "Marseille" by Netflix, as well as other films such as Stilwater, Bac Nord, Bronx, Plus Belle la Vie, Léo Matteï, and Le temps des secrets, officially becoming the capital of the 7th art in France. It is the 1st filming destination after Paris thanks to the diversity of its landscapes, its light, its urban identity, and its large pool of audiovisual professionals. Head to Provence Studios, known for hosting major American productions, just a few kilometers from Marseille in the city of Martigues.
