Who said that Argentines have the monopoly on empanadas? While these stuffed delicacies pride themselves in the South American country, their reputation has crossed borders in recent years and given good ideas to some local chefs. Among the references in Lyon, Toké has mastered the art of tantalizing taste buds with crispy crust and original fillings. The success of the concept can be seen in the 5 locations throughout the city (Place Sathonay, Halles Paul Bocuse, Croix-Rousse, Vieux-Lyon, and Berthelot).

Not being Argentinian and not wanting to appropriate South American culture, the maestros of Toké offer French empanadas with completely different fillings than those found with our friends from the south. It is this originality that gives the name "tokés" to the recipes offered. If the method is a hit, it's because it's unbeatable: Toké only works with raw materials (including dairy products and meats selected by the Best Craftsmen of France). "Born to be tasty," as the motto of the house says!

Toké Lyon

Tokés and artisanal beer at all times

And when we do everything from A to Z, we can obviously afford to vary the pleasures. So the menu changes regularly with a base of 4/5 classic recipes to which 8 recipes are added (as well as desserts and a winter soup or a summer Gazpacho) that evolve according to seasonal fruits and vegetables. Both sweet and savory, with meat or vegetarian options (and vegan & sweet), the tokés are for everyone and, to top it all off, can be enjoyed at any time (restaurants providing non-stop service from noon to night).

To bring some happiness to your day, Toké unveils its second specialty after its flagship product: craft beer! Once again, the house surrounds itself with the best when it comes to draft or bottled craft beers. The Happy Hour deal with 1 Toké/1 shot starting from €6 from 5pm to 7pm is really delightful... If alcohol is not your thing, other cool drinks (especially those from the brand Matécito) are available to accompany your feasts. And Toké offers other tempting deals: 30% off on the entire menu all year round with a student ID, free coffee every Monday for on-site orders, and a free pint or soft drink for the purchase of 4 Tokés on-site every Thursday evening.

And we gladly admit it: holding your toké in one hand and your drink in the other is clearly a luxury that we can't stop treating ourselves to.
