A story of childhood friends

Behind this brand new café-bookstore, named Kamon Shoten, are three friends since kindergarten. Two of them have lived or worked in Japan, so if you're looking for a taste of Japan and immersion in the land of the rising sun, fear not! You've stumbled upon true connoisseurs... At Kamon Shoten, the atmosphere is guaranteed to be unique and authentic, a real journey without even leaving Lyon.

The essence of Japan comes to Lyon

So, what's on the agenda at Kamon Shoten? Japanese manga and comics of course, deeply rooted in Japanese culture, but also their predecessors that were present at their peak: magazines from the 70's!

You can also admire handmade family crests by a 72-year-old Japanese woman, as well as enjoy the 1980s Japanese tatami lounge, with consoles and video games to challenge your loved ones to some exciting games. And last but not least, one of the highlights: Japanese street food!

The pastries are delicious, made by the café's pastry chef, and their Japanese curry is just amazing. A must-try.

Opening very soon

If you want to discover the place properly, mark your calendar for Wednesday, February 8th between 6pm and 9pm! Festivities will be happening and you'll have the chance to meet Chef Tomoaki and pastry chef Patrice Cayuela!
