In Lyon, Oh Couscous is an institution. This Algerian restaurant with a predestined name is located in the small street of Port du Temple, close to Place des Jacobins, and offers one of the best couscous in the city with a super value for money. In a simple, clean, yet exotic setting, Oh Couscous presents a menu in the pure Algerian tradition. On the menu: traditional couscous (with seasonal vegetables, beef meatballs or chicken), fragrant tagines, and mouthwatering chakchouka (vegetarian, with meatballs or chicken). All starting at 17€ and served generously.

Away from the standards of Moroccan restaurants, Oh Couscous welcomes us in an intimate atmosphere in the middle of a very calm and somewhat dark alley. But once you pass through the doors of the address, you enter a world of scents, colors, and oriental delights. In shades of yellow and green sprinkled with stone walls, this spot also reveals a huge typical portrait of a young Berber woman from the Ouled Nail tribe of the Algerian mountains to immerse us in the experience.

Even the drink menu teleports us to the heart of Algeria with options like Hamoud lemonade (a gold medal-winning Algerian lemonade) or Selecto, the Algerian Coca-Cola with its unique and delicious taste of apple and caramel. There's also a selection of red, rosé, and white wines, all Algerian (Algeria has long been one of the largest wine producers in the world). The homecooked meals and warm hospitality take care of the rest, offering us an exceptional culinary experience that makes us crave another trip to the Maghreb. We might just have to give in...
