Cape Verde, a destination with many faces
Cape Verde is an archipelago that beautifully blends beach life, adventure, and culture. The islands of Sal and Boa Vista charm beach lovers with their endless shores, diving spots, and surfing opportunities, while Santo Antão is a hiker's paradise with its lush valleys and stunning landscapes. You'll find breathtaking views, traditional villages, and vibrant terraced fields. For the more adventurous, Fogo Island even lets you climb the active Pico do Fogo volcano and walk on what feels like a lunar landscape. The natural park around "Bordeira" (the edge of the crater) offers otherworldly views, rebuilt villages after an eruption, and a very unique atmosphere. Explore, enjoy views of lava, and experience the local coffee and wine culture in the caldeiras.

A Unique Cultural Immersion
Cape Verde is more than just its postcard-perfect landscapes. The island of São Vicente, and especially Mindelo, is the cultural and musical heart of the archipelago, with morna concerts, colorful carnival celebrations, and vibrant nights out. A visit to the Centro Nacional de Arte, Artesanato e Design is a must to explore contemporary and traditional art. And don’t miss the lively carnival in Mindelo! Santiago, the largest island, embodies a blend of African and European influences, with its capital Praia being the starting point for many historical and cultural discoveries.

Flamboyant gastronomy and ideal climate all year round
Cape Verde also shines with its local gastronomy. Among the delights you absolutely must try, we recommend tasting cachupa, the national dish, which comes in the form of a stew made with corn, beans, vegetables, and sometimes meat or fish. We could also mention caldo de peixe (fish soup), frango assado (spicy grilled chicken), grilled lapas (limpets), or grilled fish (being in the middle of the Atlantic, the seafood is fresh and king). As for desserts, we're also spoiled with hot cuscus (with butter or honey), pastéis (small fried snacks) filled with tuna, or “bolo de milho” (corn cake).
.With its average temperature of 25°C, Cape Verde is a guaranteed sunny destination that can be explored all year round. A little corner of paradise that's now easily reachable directly from Lyon Saint-Exupéry airport with two flights to Praia and Sal.
