Since June 3, 2025, Wizz Air has launched a new direct route between Lyon and Kutaisi, providing travelers with two weekly flights (Tuesday and Saturday) to explore the treasures of Georgia, featuring a rich heritage, breathtaking landscapes, and generous gastronomy.

Nestled along the banks of the Rioni, Kutaisi, one of Europe’s oldest cities, reveals a rich historical heritage. The Bagrati Cathedral, built in the 11th century, towers over the city from the Ukimerioni hill, while the Gelati Monastery, founded in 1106 by King David IV, is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site for its remarkable architecture and its role in Georgian medieval education.Just a few kilometers away, the Motsameta Monastery, perched on a cliff overlooking the Tskaltsitela River, offers a peaceful setting and breathtaking views.

Georgia, a land of discoveries and unexpected flavors
