No need to travel across all of Alsace to find the magic of Christmas markets! About two hours from Lyon, a small village of 300 residents in Haute-Loire transforms into a fairy-tale setting every year. Welcome to Saint-Geneys-près-Saint-Paulien, where garlands, red hearts, and twinkling lights adorn the facades from autumn onwards. Driven by the energy of local shopkeepers, artisans, and residents, this collective initiative has made this charming village an unmissable destination for Christmas lovers.

Concerts and hikes on the Christmas agenda
The 2026-2027 season is shaping up to be particularly lively. On December 5th, the Marzo & Mercurio concert will fill the church with guitar and vocals, followed by a gospel evening with Fabienne Della-Moniqua on December 11th.

Hiking enthusiasts can also participate in Christmas hikes, organized on December 14, 15, 21, 22, 23 and 24 at 3 p.m. For about an hour, "sporty elves" will guide visitors through the decorated village. Children will also enjoy their share of surprises with the Bear Game, while a big raffle will give you a chance to win a cruise, among other prizes.
