KFC better watch out: starting on September 6th, its American competitor, Popeyes, is setting up shop in Lyon on the top floor of the Part-Dieu shopping center! The number 2 in fast food chicken is determined to become number 1 and is ready to tantalize the taste buds of the French.

Good news for fried chicken lovers, now you will have the choice between Popeyes and KFC! The American fast food chain is opening in Lyon starting September 6th on the top floor of the Westfield La Part-Dieu shopping center, with at least 500 m² (and a terrace), tempting us with its Louisiana flavors menu. The very first Popeyes store in Lyon, more are sure to follow since the giant plans to flood France with its chicken. We just have to wait patiently before we can dive into the famous "chicken sandwich", an iconic product of the brand, with its chicken marinated for 12 hours in Cajun spices! Popeyes soon to be the kings of fried chicken?Behind KFC, the legendary chain that delights American taste buds, is determined to outdo them! To do so, the company plans a massive development in French territory and aims to open 20 restaurants in 2023 and 300 by 2030, just like that. This strategy is based on a strong presence of dark kitchens, establishments solely dedicated to delivery. But the Lyon location should offer the opportunity to devour chicken-based creations on site. So, who's ready to dig in?
