Calling all street food lovers: since February 2022, the NBK Naanerie franchise has set up shop in Lyon, in the Vaise neighborhood. On the menu: cheese naans filled with kebab, Indian chicken, or even steak. It's like a taco in a cheese naan sauce.

Cheese naans, that's life! This small Indian bread stuffed with cheese, both "light" and gourmet, is cooked in a traditional Tandoor oven. If you've already been offered a list of the best places in Lyon to devour cheese naans, we didn't think this madness was possible. Already present in Rennes for about ten years, the franchise NBK Naanerie has just opened a location in Lyon, at 76 rue du Bourbonnais in the 9th arrondissement.

The concept is mouthwatering: traditional cheese naans filled with original compositions and rolled up like a Lyonnais taco. Combining street-food with Tandoori flavors, the house offers recipes made with kebab, beef steak, Cajun chicken, marinated or crispy. Our favorite is the Tikka Mango with its charcoal cheese naan, crispy tenders seasoned with tikka masala spices, spicy cheese balls, salad, tomato, onions, and a sweet curry mango sauce.

In a nutshell, it's like a taco but with an Indian naan instead of a tortilla. And that makes all the difference. If cheese naan is not your cup of tea, NBK also offers burgers, bowls, and traditional tacos. Note that the burger buns can also be swapped out for cheese naans. So, we are clearly in the fast food spirit with a naan twist. To enjoy this, expect to pay around 6 euros on average. The price of happiness!
