The grand ceremony of the world's gastronomy has revealed its decisions! Last Monday evening, the Michelin Guide announced the new starred restaurants for 2024. And the big news is that two restaurants in Lyon have received their first Michelin star: Atelier des Augustins in Lyon 1st, and Burgundy by Matthieu in Lyon 2nd. Well done to them for this prestigious recognition. This award is a testament to their exquisite cuisines, delightful flavors, and culinary expertise. Unfortunately, there was no third star for the Paul Bocuse restaurant. The red guide also confirmed some expected downgrades: Les Loges restaurant in Lyon 5th lost a star as it's currently under renovation, and the iconic Paul Bocuse restaurant, still mourning the loss of its third star since the legendary chef's passing in 2020, has yet to regain it. Despite this, Lyon continues to boast its stellar collection of restaurants. The city now proudly showcases 5 two-star establishments (Mère Brazier, Takao Takano, Le Neuvième Art, Paul Bocuse, and La Pyramide - Maison Henriroux in Vienne) and 14 one-star restaurants (L'Atelier des Augustins, Prairial, Burgundy by Matthieu, Rustique, Les Terrasses de Lyon, Au 14 février, Jérémy Gavlan, La Sommelière, Têtedoie, La Mutinerie). Lyon remains a culinary paradise with its diverse range of Michelin-starred dining experiences!Discover the joy of shopping at our charming boutiques (Les Apothicaires, Le Passe Temps, Le Gourmet de Séze, and Miraflores).
