Sadness: one of the best smoked meat restaurants in Lyon is going to close its doors

It's a real piece of Texas right in the heart of Old Lyon. Open since November 2016 at 3 rue Saint-Georges in Lyon 5th, The New World Smoke was one of the first restaurants to bring and popularize barbecue-cooked meat in the capital of the Gauls. In a setting straight out of a spaghetti western, this meat lovers' headquarters offers all the essentials for the perfect carnivore. On the menu: sheriff-sized portions, meats smoked for hours (like the delicious ribs of pork and/or turkey grilled on the barbecue) and ice-cold beers.

A taste of meat just like in the USA

But this mouth-watering menu will soon be coming to an end. The New World Smoke will be closing its doors after one final service on June 21, 2024. This news might put a damper on the start of summer and the Fête de la Musique... So, there are a few weeks left to enjoy dishes of meat cooked in an authentic American recipe: slow cooking at 80°C and meat smoked with oak wood. All prepared with fresh and high-quality ingredients, featuring top choice meats ranging from Black Angus beef to delicious Pulled Pork.

A challenging task that will require some energy... And nothing like a good chunk of meat for that!
