Get ready with your forks and stretchy pants: a new temple of indulgence is arriving in Lyon. And it's no ordinary place: in the old Tour Rose of Vieux-Lyon, former home of Food Traboule, very soon will settle Les Grands Buffets Lyonnais. A name that inevitably brings to mind Les Grands Buffets de Narbonne, a true culinary institution in the South of France. Here, the same gargantuan concept: an oversized buffet where the traditions, homemade touches, and limitless enjoyment embrace you.
A temple of Lyonnaise gastronomy
At the helm of this future gathering spot for food lovers is Farid Mezaber, determined to honor Lyonnaise gastronomy. Upstairs, you'll find the classics of the bouchons: plump quenelles, well-seasoned andouillettes, steaming gratins… Meanwhile, on the ground floor, an open rotisserie promises to be the stage for meats that roast and fill the air with delicious aromas. Add to that a bunch of homemade desserts...you get a tailor-made address for family Sunday meals, outings with friends, or those mornings after where only a good buffet can save you.
A Lyonnais buffet all-you-can-eat for 29 euros
As for prices, you don’t need to sell a kidney to treat yourself: 29 euros for lunch, 39 euros for dinner, on weekends and holidays. It’s an honest deal when you see the promised abundance. With two kitchens in action and 300 seating places, this new spot has everything it takes to become the new XXL canteen of the gourmet Presqu'île. All that’s left is to wait a little longer before the official opening on May 15. Spoiler: it’s going to get busy at the entrance.
