In an almost secret setting now hides one of the world's best dining experiences. Nestled in Jongieux, a village of 284 inhabitants, the restaurant Les Morainières defies all clichés of flashy gastronomy. A village where you won't find any palaces or upscale ski resorts in the backdrop, but endless vineyards and a winding road that leads to a nearly invisible winemaker's house. Yet, it is right there that chef Michaël Arnoult has recently elevated his establishment to the top with three Michelin stars. A rise that is as discreet as it is spectacular.

A cuisine rooted in the terroir
Far from imported star ingredients, the chef showcases his region with remarkable precision. Trained alongside Emmanuel Renaut, Michaël Arnoult has gradually shifted his focus back to the essentials: the local! No more systematic lobster and turbot; it's all about the crayfish from the Rhône, wild herbs picked that very morning, and products from the surrounding areas. This philosophy turns every plate into a tasty postcard from Savoie. The outcome? A sincere, immersive, and above all, highly emotional cuisine.

The Michelin Guide was absolutely right to celebrate creations of incredible precision, like this crayfish tartare in jelly with a touch of mandarin butter. The ultimate twist? Customers can literally see the fishing spot from their table. A total immersion that makes all the difference and elevates Les Morainières to another dimension.
A dazzling success... but keeping feet on the ground
Despite the acclaim, the chef maintains a rare humility in this industry. Since the announcement, reservations have skyrocketed, fully booked all the way through the summer. Yet, Michaël Arnoult remains true to his roots: a communal kitchen focused on emotion and the pleasure of the customers above all. There's no big ego here, just an obsession with detail and taste. It goes to show that sometimes, the brightest stars shine far away from the spotlight... and perhaps that's the true luxury.
