Every year, the Michelin Guide awards its precious stars, celebrating the talents of chefs and the quality of the tables that delight our taste buds. The 2025 edition, revealed this Monday in Metz, sticks to tradition by awarding 78 new stars in France, a record compared to 2024. Among them, nine earn their first star in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and another gains a second one, a region that continues to assert its prime position on the gastronomic scene.
The spotlight is on these new addresses where the refinement of the dishes, mastery of the ingredients, and creativity of the chefs have convinced the Michelin inspectors. In Veyras in Ardèche, it's Florian Descours who snags his first star with La Boria, while Lucille Routin and Kévin Vaubourg, at the helm of In Lyon, it's Tabata and Ludovic Mey who earn their star with Ombellule, while Romain Barthe has turned Auberge de Clochemerle in Vaux-en-Beaujolais (Rhône) into a must-visit for food lovers. In Haute-Savoie, Lucas Dumélie from Sechex-Nous in Margencel, Jean-Philippe Lemaire from ...Kern at Seytroux, along with Julien Gatillon and Jean Pastre, who work at Vous in Megève, join the prestigious list.
But the true honor this year goes to the restaurant Le Strato, Baumanière 1850 in Courchevel, which achieves the status of two stars. This temple of refinement at high altitude, already renowned for its elegance and high standards, has reached a new level and is now considered an exceptional dining destination that shouldn't be missed.
Beyond the stars, the 2025 Michelin edition also celebrates a gastronomy that is increasingly sustainable, with a record number of establishments earning the green star for their ecological commitment. This is sure to delight food lovers who care about preserving the environment. One thing is for sure: in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, cuisine continues to shine and reinvent itself. To your reservations !
