Geoffroy Terrasson hadn’t planned on wearing the apron of fame. What he loves is kneading dough, shaping beautiful loaves, and elevating pastries with passion, as he shares in an interview with Tribune de Lyon. But when M6 spotted him, he didn’t say no. A few weeks later, there he was, shining under the spotlight of La Meilleure Boulangerie de France, in a discreet yet formidable way. After brilliantly winning the regional final, this week he's competing against 23 other finalists from all across France. The prize? The national title and recognition that could make the temperature soar in his already-bustling Lyon bakery.

At 36 years old, Geoffroy's journey is already impressive. Having gone through the Compagnons du Devoir and trained by top talents like Mickaël Morieux (MOF and double world champion), he has traveled around France and abroad before settling in Lyon. Together with his wife Alena, whom he met in Belarus, he created a bakery that reflects their values: demanding, generous, and local. Organic flours, homemade creations, and top-notch pastries... including the famous Strié, the undisputed star of the bakery.

And yet, Geoffroy keeps his cool. He views the competition with a bit of distance and plenty of excitement. No way is he betting on glitz: " I focused on flavor, not aesthetics," he shares. The real reward? Bringing joy every day to the people of Lyon who flock to his shop. The title of MOF? Not so much for him. His challenge is to remain consistent, innovative, and generous. But this Friday evening, in front of nearly a million viewers, Geoffroy might just snag a trophy he never even dreamed of. Proof that beautiful breads can sometimes take you very far.
